Editorial Reviews:

This book is a must for all ribbon embroidery and stumpwork enthusiasts. A substantial 160 page book, it is packed with new ideas and techniques that will appeal not only to all embroiderers, but also to other crafters such as quilters, knitters, fabric painters, scrapbookers or home decor enthusiasts. Included in each panel are innovative ideas for a variety of crafts. More and more crafters are wishing to learn how to combine ribbon embroidery and especially stumpwork with their crafts to make their own distinctive work of art and this book will help you do just that! The original watercolour design is by South African botanical artist, Verde. There are 17 panels in the magnificent sampler and 60 different elements in the design with a clear stitch gallery to guide you. Flowers and creatures from all over the world, many of them never having been done before, are included in the sampler, so there is something for everyone. The embroidery for each element is shown step-by-step with clear and beautiful photographs.

Just a wonderful challenging project. I finished the RES project and this one is a must companion piece.

This is a GREAT book whether you are a beginner or a more advanced stitcher. With all due respect, I must disagree with Cynthia McCorkle's review. The book is quite different from the earlier one. Here are a few techniques not included in the earlier book: the flowers are different, the moth's wings, the organza petals of the Poppy, the silk petals of the Protea and the Waterlily, the barbola work on the Strelitzia flower, a new way to make the Roses and the loose petals of the Cosmos flower( on the cover of the book). I learned a lot of new techniques in this book. I have not only used some of the ideas to embellish my many needlepoint projects, but also enhanced my handmade greeting cards and my scrapbooks. I really like the clarity of the instructions, too!

Excellant book, both pictures and text, Feb 27, 2008

I purchased this book for a present for a friend, who is a vastly more experienced embroiderer, than myself. But first, I had the delight of looking at the book myself,I was bowled over by the delightful mixter of animals and plants, and only wish I could be that skilled. When I gave it to my friend she was equally delighted so you have 2 satisfied custumers.Jillian
